CHasing me down is not so hard: Like you I joined the mc-mailing and aloith
packaging team recently.
See:
- https://code.launchpad.net/~veger/ubuntu/precise/mc/fix-for-905610

I have updated the Ubuntu package to 4.8.1 and got request to try and get my
changes accepted into Debian. And that is how I joined here.

Well I am not, Andreas is helping me out to get things done. But if you are
more experienced, it might be more convenient to use your changes and check if
I have some additions to it. I have not seen your patch so I do not know
whether my changes can contribute.

The idea was to at least update to a newer VCS.
I do not see why a 'shared repository' is better than the 'mc dedicated' one
that has been created? If you care to explain, we can see which one is best to
pick.

Any place where we all could see it? If zo, I'll compare whether any of my
changes can be added or they already are included in your patch.

  Maarten
