Any thoughts?

Worst case: we're likely to get bug reports specifically regarding this 
feature. (can we add "unsupported" disclaimer ?)

I tried it, it works, non-latin file names are broken.

Even as it is now it is not worthless so I'm considering enabling it,
after request from one of our users.

Any objections or reasons why we shouldn't do it?
