[Pkg-mc-devel] Bug#664840: mc: cannot copy zero-length files

Package: mc
Version: 3:4.8.1-2
Severity: serious
Justification: inhibits normal usage

Hi,

just saw that I cannot copy /etc/skel/{,.}* into a user’s home
directory any more since it contains a zero-length file (from
grml-etc-core):

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 2 2009 /etc/skel/.vim/spellfile.add

When trying to copy recursively – or just the one file – I get
a dialogue box saying:

│Cannot preallocate space for target file "/root/.vim/spellfile.add"
│Invalid argument (22)
│
│ [ Skip ] [ Skip all ] [ Retry ] [ Abort ]

Disabling “Preallocate Space” in Esc+9+O+C makes it work, but
that’s not the point of this exercise… we do want to use the
new features, don’t we? ;-)

bye,
