I can confirm this. I have submitted a patch to debconf to fix this.
In the mean time, please run

  sed -i -e '1y/u/ /' /var/lib/dpkg/info/mdadm.postrm
  dpkg -P mdadm

to fix this. I will upload a fix with the next version, but I hope
debconf will be fixed too.
