Please set BOOTLOGD_ENABLE to Yes in /etc/default/bootlogd.
Then restart the system, do *not* assemble the array.
Instead mail me the relevant portions of /var/log/boot and
/var/log/kern.log, as well as the contents of /proc/mdstat, and the
output of
- ls -l /dev/md*
- mdadm -Es
- mdadm -E /dev/sdb1 (assuming sdb1 is part of your /boot array)
