The only way forward from this is to try to get some debugging out of it.
You've a coredump, we need a backtrace to see/know where it errors out.
For this, the best is to try the same with a binary recompiled to have
debugging symbols.  Are you familiar with (re)compile process and
willing to help finding the bug?  I can help a bit with the former, by
providing you a debug build of mdadm.
