[Pkg-mediawiki-devel] Bug#401714: please do not provide the math extension

The mediawiki package "provides the latest mediawiki package available
in Debian, along with the math extension."

The problem is that this is not what one would expect from the package
name. I thought for a moment that I couldn't install MediaWiki without
90+ MB of Tex dependencies. With this scheme, someone not willing to install mediawiki1.7-math
can only install MediaWiki by installing mediawiki1.7 directly, which
won't guarantee that MediaWiki will stay up-to-date, of course. Please
go for a scheme similar to python-defaults, adding a mediawiki-math
package if you want.

Note that post-Etch I recommend to reevaluate (if this wasn't done yet) whether that mediawikix.y
with metapackage(s) scheme is worth it.
And thanks for the work on MediaWiki. Things have changed since I
thought it would stay ITP-ed forever :-P
