Do you consider that people may using it with PostgreSQL too?

That, and there may not be an installation at all (for example, when
using FusionForge’s gforge-plugin-mediawiki, the software is pulled
in as dependency but the stand-alone mediawiki isn’t usually used,
although there’s nothing preventing people from doing so). At FF,
Roland is also still pondering how to best run those scripts…

Does the www-data user need write permissions for that to happen?
