Yes, I haven't had chance yet to investigate this path yet.

Hmm, I think this case is up to gforge-plugin-mediawiki to take care of,
since I have no idea what else happens during this process.

In this iteration, no; that doesn't mean that it can't happen in the future
of course. But upstream seems to have been sensible enough to make all
changes in the tarball, I hope that's something we an rely on in the future
too.
