This issue has been fixed since at least MediaWiki 1.16.0., 1.15.X is
horribly out of date and has already surpassed EOL which means it is
no longer getting any security updates ((!!!) And yes, there are
security issues in it), Please consider upgrading to 1.18.0 (The
current stable) even if you have to ditch a package install of
MediaWiki, which fixes this problem as well as also being currently
supported.
