I guess it would make sense to inform the release team,
e.g. with something like the following:

We are currently working on getting mediawiki upgraded to
the upstream version 1.19 and a new mediawiki-math source
package, since it’s no longer built from src:mediawiki,
into experimental, tested, and then into unstable, aiming
at releasing MW 1.19 with wheezy. Upstream has agreed on
trying to make MW 1.19 a long term supported version, so
please bear with us if we take a bit longer to avoid any
problems with the upgrade. If needed, we can provide status
information upon request.

Do you think that’d be okay? Just in case the freeze
happens sooner than second-half-of-june.
