Yes, like I said, I was proposing the internal patches,
and can live with not having file:// in MW itself.

Actually, FusionForge will only add wikis per FF project/group
but not touch the system-wide MW installation at all.

The majority of people I know does care, but YMMV.

Well sure, but we are talking about one page in SpecialPages
here, not the entire platform.
The Effect I wanted to achieve with the Outcome “raise the amount
of pages displayed in Special:AllPages” is something MW might
want to consider instead: have an easy way to export all pages
as XML via Special:Export (adding pages per Category doesn’t
catch them all). Maybe that’s the thing we’d better discuss,
although I’ve not got any code to contribute to that yet.
