Indeed, so libgl1-mesa-dri definitely isn't involved. On the other hand,
it's very strange that glxgears (or any other 3D app, for that matter)
would lock up without hardware acceleration...

Still, if you are convinced that the udev upgrade broke 3D acceleration,
please reassign this to udev.
