Tried building the 6.5 snapshot (I assume you mean 2006-05-12 ;), it
fails pretty late:

dh_install
cp: cannot stat `./src/mesa/swrast/s_fragprog_to_c.c': No such file or directory
dh_install: command returned error code 256
make: *** [binary-indep] Error 1

Looks like debian/mesa-swx11-source.install is outdated.
