I meant is as a hint ;-). Also I'd suggest adding Recomment on driconf and
mentioning in some REAME that it can be used for tuning the performance.
Currently there is only Recomment in driconf for libgl1-mesa-dri, which is
a bit hard to find.

I don't have that option in my xorg.conf, so I am using whatever the default
is. I last tried with AccelMethod EXA, so I'll try with XAA too.

By the way, I saw some other problems with 3d. supertuxcart starts, but does
not display anything (window is either black or contains bits from previously
run application) and slune crashes (gets Unknown GL_ERROR from soya.render())
