[Pkg-mono-devel] Installing Mono on Debian

Hi

I am attempting to 'apt-get install mono' on brutus.apache.org, and I seem
to be getting stuck with mono 0.30 issues, and not getting to mono 1.0
(which I need).

I think this is almost needless to say, but I'm a newbie to Debian & I
apologize in advance if this is some rookie apt mistake, but:

1) I tried to 'apt-get install mono; and I got the older version. I'd
since tried to 'apt-get -t unstable install mono' but I get no different
behaviour. I try to --fix-missing, but I just can't downlaod what is
needed (from the repositories /etc/apt/sources.lists) refers to. Maybe
they are jsut too old. I can't seem to remove mono to try again (on 2
next).

2) I tried making the /etc/apt/sources.lists modification posted on the
www site, but get this:

W: Couldn't stat source package list http://pkg-mono.alioth.debian.org ./
Packages
(/var/lib/apt/lists/pkg-mono.alioth.debian.org_current_._Packages) - stat
(2 No such file or directory)

BTW:

  http://wiki.apache.org/gump/BrutusConfig and
  http://wiki.apache.org/gump/BrutusConfig/Mono

Can anybody tell me how to recover from where I am, and what I need to do
to get mono installed?

Thanks in advance for any help.

regards

Adam
