[Pkg-mono-devel] Which Mono package do you advise for a ASP.NET project on Debian 4.0?

I intend to implement a web application on Debian 4.0 with Mono. (So an
ASP.NET application.)
According to the Mono homepage:
- the official Mono package for Debian Etch is: Mono 1.2.2.1.
- the unofficial (backport) Mono package is: Mono 1.9.1.
1) Which package do you advise?
2) What are in this context the meanings of "official" and "unofficial"?
3) I've seen that there are a lot of interesting things in the newest
release Mono 2.0(.1). Is it realistic to try to use this version/package for
Debian Etch? Or is this just a dream?
Thanking you in advance for your advise.
