    Release of Cookie Monster 1.0.2

Cookie Monster 1.0.2 contains only a couple of enhancements:

    - Added option to enable/disable the Cookie Monster menu in the context menu (the actual wording in the options menu is "Display Cookie Monster Menu in Context Menu" and this option is not selected by default, so the Cookie Monster menu will not display in the context menu unless this option is selected)
    - Adjusted the Cookie Monster menu so when displayed in the context menu, it will be offset so as not to cover the context menu.
    - Changed the minimum supported version to Firefox 3.5, as Cookie Monster is now utilizing functionality only available since 3.5 (actually, I should have changed this for Cookie Monster 1.0.0)

    - Updated German localization by Alexander Krickl (Thank you)
    - Updated French localization by Olivier Atton (Thank you)
    - Added the Traditional Chinese localization by Cheng-Wei Chien (Thank you)

Thank you for your continued support and for using Cookie Monster.

Version 1.0.0 May 10, 2010 51.2 KB

Thank you for using Cookie Monster 1.0.0. It has been quite awhile since the last update and in this time I have received quite a few requests for new features and enhancements. While not able to add all of these requests for this update, I have added several of them:

    - Updated code for Temporarily Allowed Cookies to address potential issue when several Firefox windows (not tabs) are open simultaneously (Thank you M. Harvey for reporting this)

    - Added option to set whether affected web pages are automatically reloaded when cookie permissions change
    - Added Cookie Monster menu to the context menu (i.e right-click)
    - Added keyboard shortcut to display Cookie Monster menu (Ctrl-Shift-m)
    - Added to the menu "Revoke All Temporarily Allow" functionality to revoke temporary permissions for all sites
    - Added text to the Cookie Monster tooltip indicating whether or not the site has requested to set cookies (This does not indicate whether the cookies were accepted - only if the site requested to leave them)

    - Added support for Third Party Cookie management:
    * Added sub-menu containing any third-party cookies detected during loading of the page
    * Within this menu
    - Each third-party cookie request can be managed individually
    - All listed third-party cookie requests for the site can be set to Temporarily Allow
    - All listed third-party cookie requests for the site set as Temporarily Allow can be revoked
    * Obviously, the third-party detection code is new and although I have performed some testing, I cannot guarantee it will detect every third-party cookie request, but I hope it detects most of them. Detecting third-party cookie requests is challenging enough, let alone in an asynchronous, multi-tab browser environment.

    - Updated German localization by Alexander Krickl (Thank you)
    - Updated French localization by Olivier Atton (Thank you)
    - Added the Traditional Chinese localization by Cheng-Wei Chien (Thank you)

Version 0.98.0 May 22, 2009 45.1 KB

    Minor Update:

    - Updated Max Version to 3.6.*
    - Added additional filtering to "on location change" event to increase efficiency of page loads
    - Updated German localization by Alexander Krickl (Thank you again)
    - Updated French localization by Olivier Atton (Thank you again)
    - Added the Traditional Chinese localization by Cheng-Wei Chien (Thank you)
    - For FF 3.5b4, one rendering issue still remains with the Options dialog window, where the last option is only partially visible, although this option can still be selected (This is only in FF3.1 beta 2 and higher and I hope will be fixed in an updated version)
    - Added Option allowing user to use original default icon (the Monkey), as opposed to new logo
    - New menu item
    * Added menu item for deleting cookies for current site (this functionality requested by a user - thanks for idea)
    * To use this, choose (from Cookie Monster menu) View Cookies->Delete Cookies for ....
    * Added Option allowing user to "Disable Confirmation Dialog for Delete Cookies Menu Option", as by default, when user chooses "Delete Cookies for site", a confirmation dialog will display prior to the cookies being deleted

    - Updated the "Temporarily Allow" functionality to save the previous site-specific cookie setting, if any, of the URL, and upon restart, restore this setting (this was reported by a user who wanted to Temporarily Allow a URL set to Reject cookies, and upon restart have the URL be set back to Reject cookies)

    - Updated Cookie Monster to be compatible with FF 3.1
    * Updated "Show Cookies ...." popup windows to be compatible with Firefox 3.1
    * One rendering issue still remains with the Options dialog window, where the last option is only partially visible, although this option can still be selected (This is only in FF3.1 beta 2 and beta3pre and I hope will be fixed in an updated version)

    - Updated German localization by Alexander Krickl (Thank you again)
    - Updated French localization by Olivier Atton (Thank you again)

Version 0.96.1 January 14, 2009 46.1 KB

    - Updated icons, including replacing the "monkey" with my attempt at icon creation (please let me know what you think)
    * Replaced the default icon (monkey) with my attempt at creating my own icon for Cookie Monster
    * Changed the icon for the non-selected cookie settings listed in the menu
    * Added icons for sites using Global Override

    - Updated some menu text, hopefully clarifying the "Cookie Access" sub-menu
    - Changed the option "Use 2nd Level Domain Names" to checked by default
    - Added German localization by Alexander Krickl (Thank you again)
    - Updated French localization by Olivier Atton (Thank you again)

    - Added functionality to Override Global Cookie Permissions on a per-site basis (this functionality is for a known problem with the DOM property navigator.cookieEnabled and should only be used for websites using this to detect cookie settings; in essence, if choosing "Accept Cookies ...." or "Accept Session Cookies...." for a site does not seem to work, this functionality may help)

The Gecko rendering engine has a known problem with the DOM property navigator.cookieEnabled, wherein this property only checks the global cookie settings, while site-specific cookie permissions are ignored (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230350). For the security minded, the whole premise of "proactive cookie security," and users of addons such as Cookie Monster, this can pose a problem for websites using navigator.cookieEnabled to detect if the site can leave cookies.

[NOTE: This functionality should only be used on sites where navigator.cookieEnabled is used to detect cookie settings. Not only does overusing this functionality defeat the entire reason for using Cookie Monster, but it may also slightly hamper performance.]

In order to use the "Override Global Cookie Permissions" functionality:
    * First, in order to use Global Override, check Enable Global Cookie Permissions Override in Options
    o (Firefox Menu: Tools->Addons)
o Choose Cookie Monster, then Options
o Check Enable Global Cookie Permissions Override
    o Click OK

    * Then, to add a site to the Global Override list,
from Cookie Monster, choose Options->Override Global Cookie Permissions
    * A popup window will display, allowing the user to add the current URL to the list

Version 0.95.0 November 6, 2008 31.7 KB

    - Fixed reported problem with all cookies being deleted by mistake when using the "Temporarily Allow Cookies", after a restart of Firefox
    - Minor updates to more easily and completely facilitate localization
    - Added French localization by Olivier Atton

Version 0.94 August 29, 2008 30.7 KB

Improved handling of determining top-level domains, especially in 3.0, utilizing nsIEffectiveTLDService. This should improve user experience for those who visit a lot of sites with country top-level domains and sites such as tnt.tv

Version 0.92 July 1, 2008 30.7 KB

This is a minor revision, hopefully addressing the concern of the "Show Cookies for All Sites" not displaying a "Close" button within the window on the Mac OSX platform.

Version 0.82 April 12, 2008 32.8 KB

Latest Update (v0.82) fixes problem with FF2 and should work with both FF2 and FF3. I apologize for the inconvenience. The problem stemmed from a certain method in nsIPermissionManager not being available in the version in Moz 1.8 (FF2), while being available in Moz 1.9 (FF3). To me, this difference was not clearly documented.

Version 0.80 April 7, 2008 31.7 KB

Version 0.80 fixes a problem where changes in Cookie Permission settings outside of Cookie Monster were not properly monitored, changes how 2nd Level Domains are both handled and displayed, and is tested with Firefox 3 beta 5, thus allowing a max version bump to Firefox 3.0pre.

Version 0.76 February 1, 2008 31.7 KB

Update version range for Firefox to include Firefox 3.0 beta 3 and also added support for Netscape 9 (a nod to history, for nostalgia's sake).

Version 0.75 January 17, 2008 31.7 KB

Update version range for Firefox to include Firefox 3.0 beta 2.

Version 0.71 July 15, 2007 31.7 KB

    Updated homepage to http://forum.addonsmirror.net/index.php?showtopic=6599
