Yes, more transition packages might be misleading, but I don't see
that they are useless as there are users that use etch in their
sources.list and that won't get any transition at all otherwise. In
fact, for me this sounds like a bug.

Of course, you could argue that running etch before its stable is not
supported, but OTOH they helped us to test firefox and don't deserve
to be left without transition imo.
