that sounds weird ... maybe double check that they don't make use of
in-source headers instead of system ones. Maybe the configure switch
is just broken? Or are there no headers involved at all to get that
feature?

Anyway, if so, then we should add recommends or suggest to make
explicit that there is such an auto-detected feature?
