Pressing ctrl-shift-u does weirdness.

Yes, that's what I had! And some keys didn't show up, right? Is that
even normal to happen? Who is taking over ctlr-shift-u? Again, this
never happened in early versions? Did you also get red underlines even
though I disabled real-time spell checker in forms feature? I don't 
think that weirdness is supposed to happen even without fgupdater 
extension.

Should I submit a bug report of this?
