The problem was rather that sans, serif, etc. were changed into Times,
Helvetica, etc. by mozilla preferences. This is changed by [1].

AFAIR, mozilla doesn't want to change this.

Now, if a web page explicitely demands Helvetica, there is nothing we
should do. *That* should be dealt with by fontconfig.

Anyways, I kind of remember there *are* some strange issues with font
selection not being done the same way in mozilla compared to other gtk
applications.

So I'd say it depends what the claims really are.
