No :-(. I didn't have it installed before, but installing it hasn't
fixed the problem. The only other package I could find which might have
a remote possibility of being connected to startup notifications is
xul-ext-notify, but that doesn't fix it either.

I just thought to check what happens when I launch it from the GNOME
main menu: same problem.
