Why skip it for now?  I can only see advantages of adding it, by
making it possible to automatically locate plugin packages for a given
mime type, while the cost is a bit work and a few bytes in the
Packages file.  What disadvantages do you see by adding it?

How strange.  I see the plugin installation dialog showing up with
iceweasel version 3.0.6-3 in Lenny.  My Squeeze test machine is
currently being installed, so I can not verfiy that it work there, but
found it strange if it was removed from iceweasel in Squeeze.
