Package: iceweasel
Version: 3.5.6-2

Firefox 3.5 introduced DNS prefetching: https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Controlling_DNS_prefetching

"This is a feature by which Firefox proactively performs domain name
resolution on both links that the user may choose to follow as well
as URLs for items referenced by the document, including images, CSS,
  JavaScript, and so forth."

There is a setting to control it: network.dns.disablePrefetch = true |
false. This is on by default in Iceweasel. You can't use about:config
to change it, as it isn't listed. You have to edit the prefs.js file
manually: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/387592
