Since you're using KDE, I guess you don't have libgnomevfs installed.
What does "grep pdf /etc/mailcap" have to say?
Could you start iceweasel with the two following environment variables
set:
NSPR_LOG_MODULES=HelperAppService:5 
NSPR_LOG_FILE=/some/file
Then attach the /some/file to this bug.
