$ apt-show-version -a iceweasel
-bash: apt-show-version: command not found

Maybe you were saying apt-show-versions ?

I did put the output from it. I also tried apt-file search
apt-show-version and it shows me this.

So seems there is no apt-show-version in debian repository.

I have done the usual before trying the above :-

a. $ sudo aptitude update
b. $ sudo apt-file update
c. sudo apt-show-versions -i

However aptitude versions shows a slightly different output :-

$ aptitude versions iceweasel

p   3.5.19-3                                    testing,unstable         500

Maybe its the weight/score I have put up for experimental (1) that is
the issue perhaps ?
