libcairo2 1.10.2-6~bpo60+1 very slow

Dear mozilla maintainers,

Just to report that libcairo2 1.10.2-6~bpo60+1, which is pulled in
when I install iceweasel 8.0-3~bpo60+1 from
"http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports iceweasel-release", is
slowing apps down by a large factor.

On an Athlon X2 in 64 bit mode, this not only makes iceweasel
unusable, but also makes emacs unusable. Emacs can't keep up with
typed text, the minibuffer is especially slow when holding down
backspace, getting around 12 characters behind at a time. Redrawing
operations, like after I've pressed ctrl-x 2, take several seconds,
and you can see the widgets being drawn one after another. I suspect
the effect on other applications is similar, but haven't tested this.

I have testing reverting to the debian stable version of the libcairo2
package only, and then changing to the mozilla.debian.net version, a
couple of times, to confirm that it's this particular package that's
causing the big slowdown.

  regards, Stanley.
