Dear Maintainers,
I seem to have a problem upgrading Iceweasel. I'm running debian
squeeze, pretty much standard. My /etc/apt/sources.list is:
--------------------------------
debianrob [21:50] /home/rob#cat /etc/apt/sources.list
#
#RJH
#deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org squeeze main non-free
deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org squeeze main non-free
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ squeeze-updates main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main non-free contrib
deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main contrib non-free
# For Opera
deb http://deb.opera.com/opera squeeze non-free
#RJH - for Firefox
deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main
deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports iceweasel-release
--------------------------------
The result from doing either an "upgrade" or a "dist-upgrade" is:
--------------------------------
debianrob [21:54] /home/rob#apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
iceweasel
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
--------------------------------
When I try to find out what is happening, I get:
--------------------------------
debianrob [21:56] /home/rob#apt-cache policy iceweasel
iceweasel:
Installed: 12.0-7~bpo60+1
Candidate: 13.0-1~bpo60+1
Version table:
13.0-1~bpo60+1 0

squeeze-backports/iceweasel-release i386 Packages
*** 12.0-7~bpo60+1 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
10.0.4esr-3~bpo60+1 0
100 http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports/
squeeze-backports/main i386 Packages
3.5.16-15 0
500 http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates/main i386 Packages
3.5.16-14 0
500 http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ squeeze/main i386 Packages
--------------------------------
The same thing happened on the previous upgrade and the only solution
I could find was to remove iceweasel and then re-install it - nobody
on the debian-user list could see what the problem was. Can you offer
any suggestions as to why it won't upgrade? Thank you very much for
your help.
Cheers,
Rob Hurle
