squeeze backport iceweasel-esr empty search bar

Dear Mozilla maintainers,

I have been using the Debian mozilla team APT repository to get the
latest 'release' version of iceweasel on my Debian Squeeze computers.

I decided to move to the Extended Support Release (esr) following the
instructions on the team's website.
Since I already had iceweasel 11.0 installed, I had to downgrade
several packages which wasn't a problem using synaptic package
manager.

Unfortunately when I started iceweasel 10.0.3 I got a blank search
bar. It has NO search engines, not even google nor debian packages. I
thought these were defaults for iceweasel. Curiously, on my Laptop
running debian testing, iceweasel 10.0.3 works just fine.

Please CC me, because I'm not subscribed to this list.
Hope you can look at this matter and settle it.
