Bug#706461: iceweasel in background suddenly eats several GB of RES memory

Sometimes Iceweasel suddenly eats several GB's of memory while I'm not
using it (its window is on another desktop). According to htop, it uses
more than 3 GB of RES memory. Shortly after its RES memory goes back
below 1 GB. During this time (at least at the beginning), everything is
frozen (including the mouse pointer) as my 4 GB machine swaps; it seems
that Iceweasel was using around 4 or 5 GB at the beginning, as there
was more than 1 GB used swap. This can occur several times a day.
I don't know how to reproduce this problem. It may be related to the
Facebook website (I have a pinned tab), as the last time the problem
occurred, Iceweasel automatically switched to this pinned tab and
output a dialog box about a script taking too long.
