Bug#698637: Kernel Upgrade Fixed This

I ran into this issue myself on a Dell Latitude 6530.

I tried to track this down the best that I could, but I could not find the cause. After upgrading to the latest stable vanilla kernel (3.8.2), the issue seems to have went away. I thought I would throw that out there for anyone who's desperate just to get a stable system running after encountering this bug.
