Health warning needed on instructions for installing latest Icedove on Wheezy

Please note - that isn't the instruction which you are currently told to
use on the page to which I referred. Possibly this is part of the problem.

Up to a point - but not really big or meaningful enough. The page
purports to tell you how to install an up-to-date copy of Icedove on
Wheezy. The corresponding instructions for Iceweasel work, and work
well, without breaking anything.
The instructions for Icedove, if followed, will currently break your
desktop. That kind of warrants a big flashing red sign saying,
"Warning!!! Do not follow these instructions."
Thank you for the pointers to how to install Icedove in an alternative
way. Perhaps the instructions need updating to tell you to do that
instead of what they currently say.
What would be more use is guidance on how to un-do the damage caused by
the current instructions.
