ERROR: The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

I am using IceWeasel 3.5.16 from the Debian Squeeze distribution. Getting this error message on trying to login to Livejournal account:

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. 
....

Java is working properly (java.com test passed), User Agent String plugin is in place but has no effect on the behaviour. Chromium can deal with the page with no problems. 
Is this a bug or can anyone help me with configuration?
