Hi,

Sorry for disturbing you. I am using debian wheezy 64 bits version
on an AMD machine and iceweasel version 26 from the wheezy-backports
repository. I created a little simulation in javascript and I found
a performance issue with iceweasel. I am not sure that it is a
general problem or just my system.
At the beginning, the simulation space is established with about
20.000 random number generations.

I measured the following results, all on the same machine:
Chromium Version 31.0.1650.63 Built on Debian 7.2, running on Debian
7.3 (238485) - ms 340 ms
Iceweasel 26 on the above system - about 110000 ms
Firefox 26 on windows xp under virtualbox - about 340 ms
Chrome latest versioin on windows under virtualbox - about 340 ms
Firefox for android, latest version - about 3000 ms

I don't know if this performance hit only affects my system or it is
an Iceweasel javascript engine problem. Would you like to test it?

The aformentioned simulation is accessible:

If you need further precisions or data about the issue, please
contact me.

Thanks for your patience and attention.

Best regards
András REUSS
