Package: iceweasel
Version: 31.5.0esr-1
Severity: minor
The start page is shown by default when the iceweasel package is used with a new profile, or when about:home is typed into the URL bar. The start page has an Iceweasel logo above some text which alternates between saying:
Thanks for choosing Firefox! To get the most out of your browser,
learn more about the latest features.
with a hyperlink to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/features/?utm_source=snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=default+feature+snippet
and
It's easy to customize your Firefox exactly the way you want it.
Choose from thousands of add-ons.
with a link to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/?utm_source=snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=addons
The first hyperlink seems to be defunct: it redirects to another page which isn't specifcally about the ESR version (features in the ESR version can differ from those in the regular version). Perhaps the first blurb could be removed harmlessly.
The second blurb could instead link to about:addons to achieve a similar effect. "Firefox" could simply be replaced by "Iceweasel" in the text, or could be more useful if it could say something like:
Add-ons change the way Iceweasel behaves. Add-ons which
work with Firefox ESR ought to work with Iceweasel.
To manage your add-ons, press the Alt key to activate the
menu bar, then choose Add-ons from the Tools menu.
Alternatively, navigate to about:addons.
