Bug#829281: firefox-esr: full screen video breaks event processing

Package: firefox-esr
Version: 45.2.0esr-1~deb8u1
Severity: important
Hi,
switching to full screen video completely breaks event processing for me.
Tested with MOZILLA_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=1 and -safe-mode.
Video file showing the problem is at http://psi5.com/~geier/firefox.ogv
I go to youtube.com, select an arbitrary video. No flash is installed, the
HTML5 video player is used. I click on "full screen", the video keeps
playing in the small window as before, but video controls no longer
respond.
When I click on "New Tab", nothing happens initially. When I then click on
the hamburger menu, the "new tab" event is processed, and the menu then
opens. Switching to the first tab again requires me to open the menu
(alternatively, I can change to another window and back). Likewise, the
scroll bar and keyboard scrolling are only handled after either clicking
the menu or switching windows.
In addition, not all tabs are displayed in the tab bar, and video keeps
playing in a closed tab (sound can still be heard).
The window manager I use is ratpoison. The "iceweasel" package before the
last system update (38.8.0esr) worked.
