Bug#819450: firefox: Firefox on Linux fails to find system fonts

Dear Maintainer,

I recently reported this bug upstream:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1249324

Since this is likely some OS<->Firefox interaction, I figured that
reporting this to Debian as well might not hurt. One particularly
aggravating consequence of this is that lots of fixed-width text
(including renderings of .txt files) comes out as variable-width.

I'd appreciate any leads on ways to troubleshoot/fix this.
