Sorry for that.

Having just installed 50.0-1, both the annoyances I mentioned seem to be
fixed.  The addressbar issue may have been fixed by another package
upgrade in between, I'm not sure.  The black bars issue was definitely
fixed just by installing the new version of firefox.

The widget size issue that anomie at users.sourceforge.net reported is
still present, but as you note that shouldn't be lumped into this, and
it doesn't bother me too much, so I'm marking this fixed ... assuming my
noob interaction with the control address doesn't go wrong ;)
