Bug#844759: firefox: gtk3 renders large multiselect boxes rather unusable due to lack of up/down buttons

Package: firefox
Version: 50.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

i dunno if this is a theme problem (I'm running the default firefox and
default gtk3 themes) but with the GTK3 changeover there are no longer
up/down buttons on scrollbars.

This very negatively impacts the usability of large multiselect boxes on
websites like mozilla's own bug tracker:

http://i.imgur.com/EltbNiI.png (for reference, this is what it looks
like for me)

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi?query_format=advanced
(Note bugzilla is an example, im well aware that in this specific case I
can select a Product entry first and the contents of Components is
narrowed down.)

Without up/down arrows on the scrollbars its very difficult to select
more than one item from large select boxes like that one. Yes, you can
scroll to the vaguely correct spot, ctrl+click to highlight a new
option, ctrl+click again to unhighlight it and then use ctrl+up/ctrl+down,
but thats not very user friendly or obvious at all. Using
ctrl+up/ctrl+down alone to navigate a select box of that size is not
reasonable.

(Ctrl+PageUp/Ctrl+PageDown only work if you have a single tab open,
otherwise it switches tabs)

Again, I do not have any custom GTK3 theme or firefox theme running here.
(Although I'll note that I do not have GNOME itself installed either,
which may have an impact on the defaults) I did try a few other firefox
themes, but it was quickly apparent that they weren't changing the
scrollbar style at all.
