could you please explain on which step you have problems? I've no idea
what you have done and where your problems begin.

Icedove has a lot of dependencies and if you haven't installed all of
them the build will fail of course. That's why we build Icedove inside a
chroot to not getting trouble or side effects inside my normal system.
I'm working with pbuilder, Christoph is using sbuild. The wiki page is
describing the steps based on a pbuilder chroot.
