+As of pulseaudio 0.9.1.15 there is a new feature called flat-volume which can
+cause earcandy to fade the master volume of the output-device to maximum,
+regardless of what volume-level the user has set.
+
+To disable this behaviour, flat-volume needs to be disabled in pulseaudio:
+
+ echo "flat-volumes = no" >> /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
+
+Any running pulseaudio daemon needs to be restarted, best achieved by ending the
+current desktop session and logging in again.
+
