Right, the "~2" suffix has to be removed from the version number before release.
OK, I have just done this.  I also changed the Maintainer to this:

    Debian mwavem maintainers <pkg-mwavem-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org>

(and subscribed you to this list) and changed Uploaders to this:

    Thomas Hood <jdthood at yahoo.co.uk>, tony mancill <tony at mancill.com>

in debian/control.  Please cd to svn-pkg-mwavem/ and do "svn up" to get these
changes.  Now all you need to do is replace

    -- Thomas Hood <jdthood at yahoo.co.uk>  Mon, 13 Jun 2005 08:51:14 +0200

in the latest changelog entry with a line showing your name and e-mail address
and the current date and time.  (You could use "dch -i" for this purpose.)
Once you have made the change, do:

    svn ci -m"Update changelog entry"

to commit your change to the archive.  Then build the package again using
"svn-buildpackage -rfakeroot", sign it, test it (if possible) and upload it
using your favorite tool.  I'll tell you how to "tag" it later.  :)
