Finally, I copied the GIT archive to the propper Alioth project space.

A first test showed two build bugs:

1. aclocal needs the parameter "-I m4" for a working build
2. If an older version of net-snmp is installed on the system,
    libsnmp-perl gets linked to the wrong version of libsnmp.

1 is easy to fix, 2 should be checked if upstream is affected, as well. 
An easy fix would be a build-conflict, though...
