That's nice however I'm talking about the ifconfig man page, not the ip
man page.

Indeed some mention of the corresponding IPv4 pair for
       add addr/prefixlen
              Add an IPv6 address to an interface.

       del addr/prefixlen
              Remove an IPv6 address from an interface.

should be made, even "if it is obvious" somewhere.
