Bug#541172: netstat: please show some action

Would it be to obtrusive to ask the maintainers of this
package to show some initiative here?

The bug is two yers old, a patch is present since more
than a year, and the bug itself breaks every convention
the Unix world applies to a return value for a command
line operation. In addition, the error arises in a patch
applied by the Debian packaging itself.
