There hasn't been any progress.  However, from previous discussions it
seems that rdate is more appropriate for d-i than ntpdate, so I
suggest you simply close this bug report.  I'm CCing debian-boot so
other people can object, but I don't think anyone is working on
setting the time via the network in d-i. :/
