[pkg-ntp-maintainers] first ntpdate crashes X

Hi all,

I just made a fresh etch install (everything default) and I noticed the
system clock was 1 hour ahead of my timezone, so I installed ntpdate and
ran: # ntpdate ntp.xs4all.nl
The time went from 00:04 to 23:04, from Sunday to Saturday. When I
pressed the Enter key, something happened that I remember also happened
when I installed Debian several months ago and ran the same command as
mentioned above: X crashed.
Maybe there is a program or daemon relying on the time, like the the
default Gnome clock (v2.14.3) that's shown by default, that somehow
crashes X?
ntpdate only crashes X once, I can now run it without problems.

Kind regards,
Mr. N. de Jonge
