Goes further, but still no ntp[d] process around after starting via
init.d script. Here's what's now in the syslog:

No segfault mentioned in dmesg or syslog.

Found out that three ntpd processes (or threads) are running if I
suppress the -u argument. Because it either vanishes or barfs if I use
it:

Interestingly the machine isn't out of memory at all:

So bascally we're a big step further, but it doesn't seem to work
completely yet. Unfortunately I have no idea how get more closer onto
the remaining issues.
