[pkg-ntp-maintainers] [RFC] berni-wip branch in git

Hi,

I have made a couple of changes to the ntp package and pushed it into a
seperate branch in the git repo. You can see the patches at

so far I've bumped the package to dh sequencer, compat level 10,
imported a patch for reproducible build (although I did not test whether
this indeed makes the package build reproducible) and added a change to
use the upstream manpages where available.

I have also added a post-receive hook to send commit mails to the
mailinglist, but so far they have not been received. Possibly they are
moderated, I tried to get the admin password on the alioth admin page
but failed (I think it is only sent to the current admins).

I'd like to upload this to experimental within the next couple of weeks.
Comments welcome.

@Kurt: As far as I understand #793837, sntp should be now in a usable
state and could be at least compiled and included in the package, right?
Replacing all current uses of ntpdate with it is a bit more work, but we
should be able to include the binary.
